AMIS in Industry

Over the years we have published numerous case studies covering a vast range of industry sectors. MCP is excited to share this series with you to demonstrate the impact that we have made to our clients’ businesses. These will help you to understand the benefits of the AMIS Journey and support you in making a business case for the key decision-makers in your organisation.

  • Chemical industry

A cost of non-conformance exercise for a company in the chemical sector identified potential benefits of more than £7 million from a reduction in downtime of 10%. A project plan for phased improvements involving a range of tools, techniques and training programme is delivering this huge saving.

  • Aerospace industry

One of our clients in the aerospace industry has increased output by 20% and achieved improvements in equipment efficiency from 78% to 90%. This programme, involving just one piece of equipment and training 12 people, has achieved real savings of £100,000 a year.

  • Food processing industry

Following a benchmarking audit that revealed production inefficiencies, a major US food processing company has improved its production efficiency through a range of planned projects and training programmes. These improvements are valued at an impressive $50,000 per day.

  • Printing industry

A successful project for a client company in the printing industry identified potential benefits of £1 million a year. 30 people were training to run Asset Care projects, ultimately justifying an increase in the number of equipment operators – and dramatically increasing output.

  • Paper mill industry

MCP helped a paper mill to increase its 70% efficiency rating to an 85% World-class standard. MCP identified the need for continuous improvement workshops for shift coordinators, team leaders and day support staff. Staff have also been trained to implement practical changes aimed at solving inconsistent performance and breakdown problems.

  • Manufacturing industry

A global manufacturer is suffering from the poor output at two of its plants in the USA. Loss of skills, inadequate reporting methods – with breakdowns under 15 minutes not being recorded – and slow shift changes are contributing to lost output. As a result of MCP’s problem-solving approach, production line efficiency has already increased to 81% and a programme of training is in place which will lead to further significant improvements.
